Our summer ends with another fantastic month of concerts. Check out our list of best picks for the month, with ticket links included as well.

Beyonce and Jay-Z, Tuesday August 5th, AT&T Park:

Beyonce and Jay-Z on tour together on a co-headlining tour — do we need to say any more? We say splurge and get the good seats.

Tickets

Wild Cub, Thursday August 7th, Great American Music Hall:

Indie quintet Wild Cub has been blowing up this summer with the success of their single “Thunder Clatter.” Check them out at GAMH with Grizfolk.

Tickets

T. Hardy Morris with Deer Tick, Sunday August 10th, Rickshaw Stop:

As part of Outside Lands’ Night Shows, T. Hardy Morris will be supporting Deer Tick at the Rickshaw Stop. If you weren’t able to snag a ticket to the festival, we suggest checking this punk show out.

Tickets

Justin Timberlake, Monday August 11st, SAP Center:

Though he’ll be at the Oracle Arena in Oakland in late November, for those who can’t wait for their JT fix, we recommend a quick Monday night jaunt down South.

Tickets

Paul McCartney, Thursday August 14th, Candlestick Park:

The final show ever at Candlestick. We shouldn’t need to tell you to go to this.

Tickets

Sara Bareilles, Thursday August 14th, Greek Theatre Berkeley:

Even if you only know “Love Song,” we can bet that this singer-songwriter will impress you. With her upbeat piano and catchy hits, we think this will be a lovely night at the Greek.

Tickets

Counting Crows, Friday August 15th, Greek Theatre Berkeley:

The Greek’s summer lineup keeps going strong with the Counting Crows and special guest Toad the Wet Sprocket. Not only will this be a great show — it’s also a local show. The Counting Crows formed in Berkeley in 1991 and we’re expecting a really special show.

Tickets

Liam Finn, Tuesday August 19th, The Chapel:

Hailing all the way from New Zealand, singer-songwriter Liam Finn is on tour promoting his latest album, The Nihilist, and the West Coast leg of the tour will be stopping at one of our favorite smaller venues, The Chapel.

Tickets

John Legend, Thursday August 21st, Greek Theatre Berkeley:

The legendary John Legend (pun intended) is back in Berkeley after performing on campus in March. This R&B singer will be the perfect soundtrack as you watch the sun set over the bay.

Tickets

Dave Matthews Band, Friday August 22nd/ Saturday August 23rd/ Sunday August 24th, Greek Theatre Berkeley:

As part of his current tour, Dave Matthews is doing dual sets at each show — one acoustic and one electric. As if the legendary rocker wasn’t enough, he’ll be playing three nights at the beautiful Greek Theatre. Find a way into this.

Tickets: All three nights are sold out but we highly recommend checking online (i.e. Stubhub or Craigslist) or hanging out on Cheapskate Hill.

Jack White, Friday August 22nd/ Saturday August 23rd, Bill Graham Civic Center:

Rocker Jack White is on tour supporting his latest album, Lazaretto, released in June of this year. The Saturday night show sold out so fast they added a second show on Friday night. After his crazy secret show in a psych ward in London last month (see here on Rolling Stone: ), expect a hell of a show either night.

Tickets: Friday

Saturday - sold out

20th St Block Party, Saturday August 23rd, Mission District:

Our favorite beach rockers Cayucas are back to co-headline the 20th St Block Party with Rogue Wave. Expect a very laid back summer afternoon party in the Mission. We’ll be there for sure.

For more info check here: http://20thstreetblockparty.com/2014/

Tickets: IT’S FREE!

Jack Johnson, Tuesday August 26th, Greek Theatre Berkeley:

Another one of our favorites is back! Though he just sold out the Fox in Oakland, Jack Johnson is back at a venue a little more suited for his mellow beach vibes. You’ll find us relaxing on a big blanket in the grass at the back of the venue.

Tickets

Leopold and his Fiction, Friday August 29th, DNA Lounge:

Feeding off huge hype coming out of SXSW, Leopold and his Fiction are back to headline the DNA Lounge on August 29th. Expect to hear songs off their forthcoming album that will be out in early 2015.
