Some students waited hours. Some showed up late to get turned away. Others saw the massive queue and came just to ask what was going on. This past Tuesday night, well over a thousand UC Berkeley students lined up on Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley to get in to the first stop on the Suits on Campus tour.
The first several hundred students to arrive were given official lanyards and moved to an exclusive line. The rest of the students received wristbands and were able to come back for the advanced screening of the premiere of Season 3.5 of Suits. This stop on the tour, sponsored by the USA Network, took place at California Theater in Downtown Berkeley.
Prior to the screening, students were able to participate in a raffle featuring t-shirts, mugs, sunglasses, and more. The students with the lanyards were also treated to a Q&A with cast members Rick Hoffman and Sarah Rafferty (Louis Litt and Donna Paulsen). Hoffman came around 8 p.m. to greet fans waiting in line and provided a much needed surge of energy to the tired and freezing crowd, giving them a taste of what they came for. All attendees were given energy drinks with a Suits graphic printed on the can.
With more fans than expected, the Suits on Campus production team was forced to turn people away and only grant Q&A access to the students with the lanyards. But even those who didn’t get to ask their favorite cast member a question were still able to catch the premiere over a month in advance. The tour continues this Thursday at UCLA, followed by the University of Arizona, then it heads to the East Coast.
Tune in to the Season 3.5 premiere of Suits on USA on March 6th.
